ClearType is a font anti-aliasing feature which makes on-screen fonts appear smoother and clearer - especially on LCD screens. If fonts appear jagged on your screen, chances are ClearType is disabled.
How to enable ClearType
- Go to the Desktop and Right-Click, then select "Properties" from the menu.
- Go to the Appearance tab. Once there, click the Effects button in the lower-right corner.
- Make sure "Use the following method for smoothing on-screen fonts" is checked.
- In the drop-down box just beneath, if it currently reads "Standard", change it to "ClearType".
- Click OK and enjoy beautifully smooth fonts!
